Generator Hostel, Smithfield – Dublin Pub Guide

Situated smack bang in the middle of Smithfield Square, Generator Hostel is much more than a place for backpackers to rest their heads as they explore the landmarks of the city. Generator could be considered a landmark itself at this point as it is a cultural hotspot where both locals and tourists hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.

The hostel boasts an eclectic mix of events from comedy nights, festival afterparties, movie screening and even full blown raves. It is also a great spot to go and watch sports with matches being shown on their massive screen. The is nothing better than drinking a few pints, surrounded by Italians as Ireland kick their ass in rugby. It also has two pool tables and a massive downstairs eating/drinking area.

The food you can buy in the hostel itself is of a very high standard, with the fish and chips up there as being some of the best in Dublin and the burgers fairly decent too.

The location of the hostel is very convenient and is only a two minute walk from the Luas line and a stones throw away from the Jameson distillery and the Cobblestone if you fancy a decent Guinness.
