The Drunken Fish, IFSC – Dublin Pub Guide

The concept of the Drunken Fish is unique to Ireland, as not only is it a pub it is also a temporary karaoke bar, Korean Restaurant, and a Sushi Bar all in one.

The building itself is absolutely massive, so big in fact that anytime you go there the place always seems to be a bit empty. This also may partly be because it is situated right in the middle of Mayor Square, an area that instantly becomes a ghost town after six o clock when all of the IFSC workers go home.

The place offers a great selection of drinks, delicous Guinness and have plenty of Korean options to chose from including Max malt beer (which will blow the head off you). plum wine and several different rice wines. You can also pick up a pint of fosters at the bargain price of €3.50, an offer surely designed to entice students from the nearby NCI through the doors.

The restaurant upstairs is a full blown authentic Korean eating extravaganza with each main course coming with more sides than you can possibly eat. They also have a bar platter option downstairs where you can get chips, chicken wings dumplings and two dipping sauces for a tenner, each platter would fill two people easily.

The staff all very friendly and genuinely seem to love having the craic with the customers. The owner of this place owns several other establishments around town including Kimchi on Parnell Street. He is also one of the main suppliers of sushi to restaurants in Dublin. Incredibly interesting man and it is worth visiting the place alone just to talk to him.The only criticism that I would have of this place is that sometimes the toilets are a bit untidy and it can be a little cold in the place too but overall the Drunken Fish has been an excellent drinking experience every visit.
